Troop 61 meets every Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in the northwest neighborhood of Delaware (55 W. Lincoln Avenue.) Visitors are always welcome!
We have an outing planned for every month. We typically camp by patrols with supervision provided by Patrol Advisors (Assistant Scoutmasters assigned to each patrol).
Jeff has been involved with Scouts for many years. As a boy he achieved the rank of Eagle, hiked Philmont, attended a National Jamboree, and served on a Boy Scout Summer Camp staff while in college. He served as a Den Leader from Tigers through Webelos. Jeff is Scoutmaster trained (Green Bar). Other training includes Youth Protection, Red Cross CPR, and BSA Lifeguard Certification.
John served as Cubmaster of Pack 39 in Delaware prior to coming to Troop 61. He is an avid fisherman. He also loves to cook in the outdoors--much to the delight of his fellow leaders! John is Wood Badge and Scoutmaster trained (Blackfoot). Other training includes Youth Protection, Red Cross CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and BSA Lifeguard Certification.
Jim, who has two sons in the troop, is a valuable asset to Troop 61. He regularly attends our outings has been especially helpful with special projects. He received Green Bar Leader training during summer camp at Seven Ranges. Other training includes Youth Protection and CPR.
Mark, also a Scout as a boy, is always on hand to provide a logical answer whenever we get in a jam. He is our "special projects" person. He has hiked Philmont and has a lot of practical experience to share with our Scouts. Mark is Scoutmaster trained (Green Bar). Other training includes Youth Protection, CPR, Safe Swim Defense, and Safety Afloat.
Tracey is currently a Webelo Den Leader as well as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He received Green Bar Leader training during summer camp at Seven Ranges.
